Lenovo ThinkCentre A60 features an AMD processor

Chinese tech giant Lenovo has unveiled their latest ThinkCentre A60 desktop PC that features an AMD processor.

It becomes the first of the ThinkCentre desktop PC with an AMD processor. This product is available in a mini-tower or small desktop and comes with dual-core processing, improved virus protection and recovery tools.

Lenovo is planning to target this desktop at customers looking for manageable desktops. These machines are available with AMD’s Sempron, Athlon 64, and Athlon 64 X2 dual core processors and it offer the customers more flexibility.

Princy Bhatnagar, general manager – desktops, Lenovo India spoke on the launch of this new machine: “Customers want innovative technology, solutions that reduce costs, and more choices. With our new AMD-based offerings, we are expanding the range of flexible and innovative solutions available to our customers through the ThinkCentre line.”

Bob Brewer, corporate vice president – desktop division, AMD added: “The AMD processors available in the ThinkCentre A60 translate to high speed, high performance CPU, which is ideal for today’s heavy multi-tasking user. These processors are designed to support next-generation platform innovations such as AMD Virtualization and high-performance, unbuffered DDR2 memory.”
