YouTube in search for the best unsigned bands on their service

Internet’s most popular online video sharing website YouTube.com has collaborated with Cingular Wireless and ABC TV to start a contest to find out the best unsigned bands.

This is one of their latest attempts to get more mainstream amongst the services, which are continuously finding new innovative ways to stay ahead of the competition.

They also recently went into a deal with Warner Music Group Corp. to distribute their library of music videos on YouTube.com.

The winners of this latest contest on the service will have their video featured on mobile phones via Cingular. In addition, they would also be featured on the TV show Chop Shop. They would also win equipment from the guitar maker Gibson. Best of the goodies would be a chance to appear on the “Good Morning America” show on ABC.
