China now has around 123 million internet users

China continues to have a fast growing internet community. The country now has around 123 million internet users.

This number is second only to the number of online users in the USA. As per available information, as many as 77 million of these users are on a broadband connection.

China also has around 788,000 websites. This information was released in a statement by the information ministry of the country.

Despite this huge number, the penetration of internet users in the country is pretty low considering the fact that China is the world’s most populous nation with more than 1 billion citizen.
