Chinese version of MySpace.com planned

Online social networking portal MySpace.com has more than 100 million registered users and it is now aiming to setup a base in the world’s second largest internet market china.

News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch has confirmed that the company is planning to launch a Chinese version of the popular online destination without running into political obstacles.

News Corp. had acquired MySpace.com last year and since then the portal has seen a phenomenal growth on the internet.

Murdoch said in a statement: “We have to make MySpace a very Chinese site. I have sent my wife across there because she understands the language.”

The company is looking for potential partners to run the Chinese version of the portal.
