Honda showcases advanced Diesel technology to rival Gasoline engines
Honda is one of the pioneers of the automotive world and they are now doing it once again. The company is showcasing a new and simple diesel powertrain that is as clean as gasoline-fuelled cars.
US is the world’s biggest market for cars and they are bringing in the world’s strictest emissions regulations, called Tier II Bin 5 next year.
This makes it important for the automobile companies to bring newer technologies to make cars more efficient.
Diesel cars are pretty popular in the European markets and are getting popular in other markets around the world too. They are more fuel-efficient but are known to have higher exhaust levels of nitrogen oxide.
Honda’s new technology features a unique method that generates and stores ammonia within a two-layer catalytic converter to turn nitrogen oxide into harmless nitrogen.
