Mercora M: Mercora launches a streaming mobile music service

Mercora has launched a new service named Mercora M. this service brings streaming music to mobile phones. The company is targeting the users of Smartphones and Pocket PC phones.

Users would now get access to digital libraries stored on their computer, along with more than 100,000 music channels.

The company is currently supporting mobile phones including Motorola Q, Samsung SGH-i320, Palm Treo 700w phones, and other Windows Mobile 5.0-certified phones. They might launch support for other platforms including Palm OS, and Linux, possibly BREW in the coming months.

They are using the Ogg/Vorbis, an open-source media encoder to provide high quality content over the mobile network. The service supports 3G and higher mobile broadband networks, such as Edge, EVDO, HSDPA, and Wi-Fi.
