The education side of Google Videos

Online video is the latest fad on the internet and it is basically used by the web users as a form of entertainment.

However, search engine giant Google wants to move ahead and use it as an educational tool. The company’s video service is now being used by The University of California at Berkeley to deliver college courses, including lectures and symposia.

These videos are available free of charge and are available through a featured page on the service.

For starters, the university has made available a library of more than 250 hours of video for public viewing. Google claims that this content was not publicly available previously.

Maybe this is the edge Google needs for their video service to move ahead of rivals including the awesomely popular YouTube.com.
