Craigslist not looking for a potential buyer
We can safely say that majority of web startups today are developed with the sole purpose of selling them off to bigger companies for a huge price.
However, we have some major exceptions on the web. Craigslist is one of the most popular websites on the internet and is a dominating social networking and classifieds service.
The operators of this web service have said in a statement that they are not interested in a possible sale for big bucks.
Craig Newmark said in an interview at the Picnic ‘06 Cross Media Week conference on this subject: “Who needs the money? We don’t really care. If you’re living comfortably, what’s the point of having more?”
The network is however 25 percent owned by eBay after one of the shareholders sold his stake in 2004.
