Dell recalling more notebooks with Sony batteries
Dell is the world’s largest maker of personal computers and they made big news recently when they announced a huge recall of 4.1 million laptops to fix the issues related to Sony manufactured batteries.
These batteries are apparently defective and can result in fires. The company has now said that they are increasing the recall by around 100,000 more units of their laptop products.
This comes after Toshiba itself announced their decision to recall 830,000 batteries made by Sony for its laptops at Sony’s request. Apple is another company to have announced a similar recall related to batteries manufactured by Sony.
IBM Corp. and Lenovo Group also have announced their decision to recall 526,000 rechargeable, lithium-ion batteries from Sony purchased with ThinkPad computers.
