Renault Logan coming to India next year
We have been hearing about this car since a long time. Now, we have some confirmation from the sources that Renault Logan would indeed be coming to India sometime next year.
This car would take on existing models in the market including Maruti Esteem, Tata Indigo and Ford Ikon. Market expects them to price this car in the range of Rs. 5 lakh.
Renault Group’s executive vice president (product, strategic planning & programs) Patrick Pelata said in a statement that trial production of the car in the Nashik facility started on September One.
He added: “Everything is going exactly as planned. In fact, the investment size is turning out to be lower than what we had expected. And the localization level is already higher than our initially targeted 50%.â€
Renault is already making this car in Romania, Morocco, Columbia, Moscow, Iran and Brazil.
Mahindra Renault managing director Rajesh Jejurikar added: “All facilities in Nashik are in place. Engineering for right-hand-drive prototypes is complete and the vehicle is ready for homologation. We are now looking at manufacturing the first 15 vehicles by October end.â€
