Australian telecoms giant Telstra launches a 3G mobile broadband network
Australian telecoms giant Telstra launches a 3G mobile broadband network as they aim to boost confidence in their investors.
Company chief executive, Sol Trujillo claimed that this network would be the world\’s geographically largest national 3G network and it would offer wireless mobile and Internet access to 98 percent of the population of the country.
This service would be around five times faster than any other network in the country and would offer users 12 channels of television, sport and movie downloads.
Trujillo added on this new development: \”You see this is the day … that life in Australia will be changed forever. This is an exciting day for all Australians, no matter where they live and work.â€
The company plans to invest one billion dollars (746 million US) in over just 10 months.
