Fujitsu plans to offer laptops with flash hard drive

Japanese maker of consumer electronics Fujitsu has said in a statement that they would soon put on sale a laptop computer with flash memory in place of the traditional hard-disk drive.

They plan to offer 16GB/32GB flash memory disk as an option with new B-series and Q-series machines.

The 16-gig drive would add $670 to the price of the computer. The 32-gig drive would add $1,335. This is a high price to pay for storage capacities but the benefits are tremendous for people who require longer life and better performance.

Samsung is another company, which is already selling Q30 laptop Q1-SSD ultra-mobile PC with flash memory as storage device. Sony is also offering a version of its small-size UX90 portable PC with 16G-bytes of flash in place of a hard-disk drive.
