Prudential Equity Group claims Apple is preparing two mobile phones

We all have heard the rumors about a possible Apple iPhone launch. Now, Prudential Equity Group analyst Jesse Tortora has said in a report that the company is working on launching two models and these could be in retail market as early as January 2007.

Tortora declined to reveal his sources but claimed that the company would most likely launch a Smartphone and a slim music phone. One of these two phones would come with wireless connectivity.

However, these phones would initially be made in small numbers. Perhaps to check market response.

He also claimed that Apple is most likely to collaborate with Cingular to provide a mobile service for these new phones. However, Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile with their recently acquired mobile spectrum could provide an interesting challenge to Cingular.
