Allofmp3.com shifting to an ad-supported model
Moscow-based music download site Allofmp3.com is apparently shifting to an ad-supported model after Visa International revealed their decision to stop processing credit card payments from the site.
Visa says that they are no longer supporting transactions on this portal because it violates piracy rules.
Simon Barker, a Visa spokesman said in a statement: “Visa members are not permitted to process Visa transactions for allofmp3.com, a Russian website which sells electronic content. The action Visa has taken is in line with legislation passed in Russia and with basic international copyright and intellectual property norms.”
Allofmp3.com continues to claim that their business operations are legitimate as they pay taxes on revenue in Russia and royalties to ROMS, which operates Russian online store licenses. The company now plans to operate under a new business model that moves it toward ad-supported distribution of free content.
