Yahoo! to give out $50,000 as reward in a video talent show
Google might have managed to acquire YouTube.com but Yahoo! has taken the initiative by inviting users to upload videos showcasing their talents.
Web users and a panel of judges would vote on these videos and the winner of this contest would win $50,000 and an episode contract.
The contest is hosted on the website itself and interested contestants can upload up to 50 videos in various formats up until November 27.
These videos would be available for public viewing starting November 13. This contest seems to be a direct target towards the recent acquisition of YouTube.com by Google. The motto of the contest is “Save The Web From Bad Videos” which probably is linked to millions of home videos hosted on YouTube.com.
