Japan’s Mainichi newspaper has reported that the Japanese auto giant Toyota are now considering building two more plants in America.
The news report claimed that the world’s second largest automaker is considering building a plant in northern part of Midwest to assemble Yaris compact cars.
This plant would be operational by 2009 and would have a production capacity of 200,000 units.
In addition, the company is also rumored to be considering building another plant in North America to start producing sport utility vehicles around 2010.
The report said that the final decision on these plans would be taken by the end of the year. The company has not yet commented on these reports.
