Hitachi Global Storage Technologies to offer notebook drives with encryption support
Hitachi Global Storage Technologies has said in a statement that they plan to launch a couple of new products next year.
The company would start selling hybrid hard drives that cut battery consumption for notebooks. And in addition, the hard drives would come with a function that encrypts data automatically.
Hitachi would also be launching a 2.5-inch-diameter 200GB drive that spins at 7,200 revolutions per minute. The company also plans to launch hard disks with capacities of 250GB.
In other plans, Hitachi aims to come out with a hard disk for the desktops with storage capacity of 1TB by next year.
The company added that they would target Vista users with their hybrid hard disks as they are the ones who would benefit from it the most.
