Europe gets iTunes, Canada is next

Along with the launch of 2 new iPods in iPod U2 Special Edition and iPod Photo, Apple also launched their flagship digital music store iTunes in European countries. UK, Germany, and France already access to iTunes, todays expansion takes it other European countries namely Austria, Belgium, Finland, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain.

The store charges 99 euro cents for a song and allows users to play songs on up to five PCs, burn a single song onto CDs an unlimited number of times, burn the same playlist up to seven times and listen to music on an unlimited number of iPods.

With this Apple covers almost all of Europe with their iTunes service. The EU ITunes Music Store features over 700,000 songs from 4 major music companies and more than 100 independent record labels. Canada is next on the lines for Apple for an iTunes Store launch in November.

iTunes is the world’s most popular online music store with more than 150 millions songs sold and a 70% market share in the America And Europe as per the company’s press release.
