YouTube.com to have a mobile version next year

YouTube is the internet’s most popular destination for sharing and watching videos. The company is being acquired by the search engine giant Google has now said that they are planning to launch a service for wireless devices within a year.

Chad Hurley, YouTube chief executive and co-founder said in a statement that supporting the ever growing mobile user base is a massive opportunity for the company.

He said: “Within the next year we hope to have something on a mobile device, it’s going to be a huge market, especially for the video mind-set we’re dealing with, it’s a natural transition.”

The company already allows mobile users to upload videos directly from their mobile phones.
