Maruti Alto is now India’s top selling car with record sales number

Maruti has somewhat managed to make a new record last month. The company sold more than 55,000 cars within the month making good use of the festive season in India.

The company also managed to set a new record for sales of a particular model. Maruti’s top-selling hatchback Alto broke all previous records with sales touching 22,294 units in a single month.

Alto overtook Maruti 800 in terms of sales number quite sometime back. And it has now broken its record of selling 20,687 units in a month which was achieved in May 2003.

Maruti continues to dominate the Indian automobile market with their compact cars and should get even more stronger when they launch some diesel engine powered cars early next year.
