ATI launches X1900 XT card for Power Mac G5

ATI Technology has announced that their plans to offer an X1900 G5 Mac Edition card for the users of Power Mac G5.

The company is already providing X1900 XT card as a build-to-order option for Apple’s Mac Pro tower systems.

The company was recently acquired by microprocessor company AMD and this information is now available on their website.

The card would be available for users of Power Mac G5 systems equipped with PCI Express (PCIe) expansion slots. The X1900 G5 Mac Edition is similar to the board offered by Apple as a build-to-order option for Mac Pros. It comes with twin dual-link Digital Visual Interface (DVI) connectors. Though it just 256MB video memory which is half that of the original card.

The ATI website said that this card would require Mac OS X v10.4.7 or later, a Power Mac G5 with PCIe expansion slots, and 512MB RAM.
