NASA to repair Hubble Telescope for a longer life
US space agency NASA has confirmed that they have scrapped their plans to abandon the Hubble Space Telescope.
The space agency now plans to send a space shuttle to repair the 16-year-old Hubble Space Telescope. This was confirmed by agency administrator Michael Griffin.
The repairs are expected to be carried out in 2008. NASA is currently working hard on their plans to resume the construction of the International Space Station.
The space agency had earlier announced their plans to cancel any further repair jobs on Hubble Telescope. This was announced after NASA suffered the Columbia Space Shuttle collapse.
NASA now plans to keep Hubble working until 2013. They would also be installing two additional cameras to the telescope.
