Nokia wins a mega deal with Vodafone Australia
Nokia and Vodafone Australia have signed on a deal worth $230 million. The deal is for a period of seven years and would see Nokia manage their services in the country.
These services include engineering, operations and maintenance of Vodafone’s HSDPA, 3G, GPRS and GSM networks.
Nokia would also be responsible for managing Vodafone Australia’s ongoing network operations covering HSDPA, 3G, GSM and core networks infrastructure. This includes the detailed design, engineering, optimization operations as well as network management, monitoring, fieldwork and maintenance services for the networks.
As part of the deal Vodafone Australia will transfer related employees and contractors into the Services business unit of Nokia Networks. The two companies have already been working together since May 2004.
