MSN to replace MSN Music with Zune marketplace

Microsoft is just days away from the mega launch of their Zune digital music and video player and the company has launched their official Zune website.

This website highlights the feature of this player which would take on the Apple iPod. It also confirmed that MSN Music would soon be replaced with Zune marketplace.

Owners of Zune player would be able to buy songs individually or subscribe to a monthly music download service.

The site currently features a few bands and offers download of images and videos of Zune advertisements. It also has a Zune theme for download for Windows XP users.

Microsoft would direct the links from MSN Music website to the Zune store or RealNetworks’ Rhapsody service.

Interestingly, the company is already in collaboration with MTV and they are promoting the URGE music store through Windows Media Player 11. That’s a whole lot of confusion for the owners of non-iPod players.
