Reports: MySpace.com to collaborate with Softbank in Japan
World’s most popular online social networking portal MySpace.com is expected to launch its Japanese version this month. And the company is likely to announce a tie-up with Japanese Internet and telecoms group Softbank.
This was reported in a news item by business daily Nihon Keizai. This project is expected to be called MySpace Japan and it would first target the personal computer users. In later stages, the service would be open for mobile users as well.
The report said that the deal was discussed in a meeting between News Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rupert Murdoch and Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son.
MySpace.com is one of the most popular websites in the United States and they now expect to replicate the success in the Japanese market.
