Comcast Corp. to launch Ziddio.com as a potential challenger to YouTube.com

Comcast Corp. has said that they are planning to launch a new website which would invite people to upload videos. This would be similar to the market favorite YouTube but the videos uploaded to Comcast might end up being broadcast nationwide.

The company is currently testing the service Ziddio.com and it is expected to be open to public sometime late this month or in December.

The site is expected to host contests for the best video under preset themes. They are currently asking the visitors to post videos showing why they should be part of the Jedi Order in exchange for prizes.

The company says that the best videos uploaded will be shown on Comcast’s video on demand service. They might even end up being shown on a special episode of “Clean Houseā€.
