Sony Ericsson to acquire software company UIQ Technology
Mobile Phone maker Sony Ericsson has said that they are now acquiring the software company UIQ Technology.
Sony Ericsson already uses applications developed by UIQ on their high end mobile devices.
Mats Lindoff, the company’s chief technology officer said in a statement on this new development: “UIQ offers excellent technical flexibility, enabling us to provide compelling features such as push e-mail, Internet browsing, end-user personalization, and enhanced music applications.”
They expect this deal to be complete within the next couple of months. And after the deal is complete, UIQ Technology will operate as a separate subsidiary under Sony Ericsson.
Sony Ericsson has been using UIQ 3.0 on their products like P990, M600, and W950.
