Dell launches Quad-Core processor powered servers
US based PC manufacturing giant Dell has launched some new server products. These new servers come powered with Quad Core processors recently launched by both Intel.
Dell’s ninth generation of PowerEdge servers now comes powered with Intel’s quad-core Xeon processors in the 1900, 1950, 2950, 2900, SC1430, and 1955 models.
The company claims that these new models outpace the older models in power and speed by more than 60 percent.
Dell also launched two-socket Precision Workstation 690 and 490 models powered with Intel’s new quad-core chips. A single socket edition model Precision 390 comes with Intel’s Core 2 Extreme processor.
The company also launched some new AMD powered Server computers. OptiPlex 740 comes powered with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor.
