Reviewme.com: New service pays for reviews of advertiser’s products

It is no hidden fact that many companies would pay for a favorable review in a news publication. However, the blogging world is making this trend more popular.

In fact, we now have a new online service named ReviewMe which is offering Bloggers good money for reviewing the products of their sponsors. The service asks the Bloggers to post their honest opinion about the product being reviewed

They are offering as much as USD 250 a review depending upon the product being reviewed. To get the things started, they are offering $25,000 to review the service itself.

Andy Hagans, president of ReviewMe added on this prize money being offered to review the service: “The $25,000 is almost used up, and we want to keep the promotion alive, so we’re probably going to extend it.”

One good thing is that the Bloggers are required to highlight the posts done for ReviewMe website.

Here is my review of the ReviewMe service for submission on the service:

The concept is nice. It is perfect for the companies who are launching new products or services. People who do not have contacts in the online media to get a word out in the public.

They can contact ReviewMe and get the product/service reviewed by as many approved Bloggers as they want. They are also able to choose the kind of Bloggers to review their products.

And considering the service makes it compulsory for the Blogger to highlight that the review has been done for the service, it is different than other payperpost services. They are also asking for the users to post their honest opinion rather than saying only positive things. It would be interesting to see if the sponsors of the reviews would actually take in serious criticism of their products in reviews they are actually paying for.

The payouts are better on ReviewMe as they are only accepting blogs which passes a certain criteria. However, if you have a fairly popular blog… you should get approved within seconds of registration.

ReviewMe is pretty simple to register into. You give in few of your details and add up to 6 of your blogs. Strangely, the site required no kind of approval for creating an account or adding in a new blog.

Once you add your blog into the backend, you just have to wait to get invitations from the service to review a particular product or service. We have registered two of our blogs and they were approved instantly. Now, we are waiting to see what kind of a product they want us to review next.

It should be exciting to see how this service develops in the coming days and if they can survive the momentum after this initial craze.

It would also be important to see how Google and other search engines respond to these kinds of paid reviews.

Note: The above review is a paid review of the ReviewMe Service.
