Hewlett-Packard to work with Flextronics on mobile phone products

US based tech giant Hewlett Packard has said that they are now teaming up with Flextronics to work on mobile phone products. The two companies aims to develop a mobile phone camera that captures high quality photos.

HP and Flextronics have signed on a five-year collaborative agreement to work together on these technologies.

As part of this new deal, Hewlett Packard would be providing an exclusive license for its image processing technology to Flextronics for use in camera modules. They would earn royalties in return.

Tara Bunch, VP of HP’s Imaging and Printing Group had more details on this new deal: “This agreement is a breakthrough for the booming camera phone market because it will transform photos into higher quality images [and] into keepsakes to share and print.”

HP currently uses these technologies in their Photosmart digital cameras.
