Intel’s extreme step for Gamers

AMD released two extremely powerful chips recently after Intel had to back down from the plan of manufacturing a 4GHz version of their Pentium 4 processor. Now, Intel is back yet again with a chip specially aimed at gamers and performance demanding customers.

The new chip is called Pentium 4 processor Extreme Edition and supports Hyper-Threading (HT) technology features a 1066MHz system bus enabled by the Intel 925XE Express chipset, an extension of the 915/925X Express chipset family launched earlier this year. The package promises a performance increase of around 33% from older chips.

This chip with the speed of 3.46GHz comes with a 2MByte Level 3 cache and HT Technology. Intel’s approach with this package has been to bring chipsets, processors and other components together to give turbocharged performance to the customer.

This ultra high performance chip although comes at a high premium. In 1000 units quantities, Intel Pentium 4 processor Extreme Edition will cost USD999 a piece, which can actually get you a complete Apple iMac! Dell is going to release systems with this package.

the extreme tag is a bit of a missdirection considering the new rig and cpu still can’t keep up with amd in the gaming arena.

amd is low quality…Intel is high quality & preforms better in stability and speed. Amd is a failure with thier disposabe-overheating cheap processors.

I definetly agree with this post. ive oned several amd computers and had nothing but trouble with them. Go with Intel if you dont want problems.

I personally think AMD IS EXTREMELY OVER RATED. although it is said AMD preforms a little bit better. It only preforms better than some intel processors in benchmarks, AMD barley leads with milisecond margins. it is redicluous becuase evreyone goes with AMD just because of small margins that cant even make a diffrence…. NO ONE can tell the diffrence between miliseconds and the framerates per second operatinng a computer, only tests or programs can tell that. people are always braggin about amd and how good it is….its got many poblems including heat. Intel in my opinon is better for thier stability and maintains a great speed, thier processors are definetly worth the price you pay for them.

all you AMD fags, explain why intel owns 85 percent of the market and amd owns only 10? let me guess… INTEL IS ALOT BETTER!!!! DUH!!! AMD is a disgrace to technology….its only good for 1 thing……gaming wich isnt popular among people (not including nerds/no lifes) INTEL IS ON TOP AMD IS IN THE GARBADGE :)
