Google expands the testing of mobile platform advertising

Search engine giant Google has said that they have expanded its mobile Internet-advertising tests. They are now catering to cell-phone subscribers in eight additional countries. This includes the Chinese mobile market, which is one of the fastest growing markets in the world.

In addition, the company has also entered a couple of European mobile markets with their mobile advertising services.

This expansion would help Google expand their scope beyond the personal computer markets. The ads are displayed when consumers in these countries access internet from their mobile devices and access Google powered free services.

Google spokeswoman Erin Fors spoke about this expanded availability: “The tests will enable a wider range of advertisers to reach users with relevant information when they’re on the go. For example, when users search for ringtones, they may see an ad to purchase or download one of the latest ring tones, directly from their mobile device.”
