Nokia introduces SMS Services in Hindi
Nokia is going desi with a number of new services being launched from the largest mobile makers in the world. First, they have launched messaging in Hindi service named Saral Mobile Sandesh. Hindi is the mother language for almost half of the people living here and access to messaging in Hindi would mean a better and accessible way of communicating messages.
They are also going desi with a new portal geared towards Hindi speaking customers. Its called ‘Mera Nokia’ and it would be providing value added services like news, jokes, and stuff like that. Again geared towards getting more clients to get hooked to Nokia and their gadgets. They are also planning to get in partnership with content providers to make available various kinds of services to the users through SMS and GPRS.
In other news, Nokia is going hyper next year with planned launch of 40 new handsets! The company is increasingly coming under pressure from competitors like Samsung, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson. The new range of handsets would give it the much-needed toolkit to thwart away the competition.

I only wanna say that composing a simple SMS in hindi is an ass-full of pain with Nokia phones… So, it is good only if u are on the receiving side of Hindi-SMS…
