Verizon to deliver Revver hosted videos to their mobile customers
Verizon Wireless had just announced that they are collaborating with Google owned YouTube.com to deliver their hosted videos to mobile users.
Now, they have announced a similar deal with another video sharing service Revver. This service would be launched in December and would be available at no additional costs to customers of Verizon’s V Cast multimedia download service.
Verizon charges $15 per month or $3 per day for this service to their customers. The videos broadcasted from Revver would be free from ads unlike the videos hosted on their web site.
The two companies have not revealed the financial aspects of the deal signed between them. However, this deal gives Verizon exclusive access to Revver’s videos for the mobile platform.
Steven Starr, founder and chief executive of Revver spoke about this deal: “This is a breakthrough for our creative base in that they will be paid 50 percent of all the revenue that’s generated from this relationship with Verizon Wireless.”
