AT&T to sell broadband services through Wal-Mart stores
US based telecom giant AT&T has said that they would now start selling their high-speed Internet services through Wal-Mart stores.
This would begin in 13 states around the country where AT&T offers their services. This would be further expanded to Wal-Mart stores in other states as they launch services in those regions.
Rick Welday, chief marketing officer AT&T said in a statement on their plans: “Wal-Mart has millions of consumers and potential customers going through their doors on a regular basis.”
Expanding the customer base for their internet services is critical for AT&T as they aim to sell a bunch of services to customers in the longer term. They also recently launched their own TV service, called U-verse, in San Antonio. This service has now been upgraded to support high definition broadcasting.
