Disney concerned on copyright infringement on Google’s YouTube
Walt Disney executives are saying that Google has to take some serious steps to limit the copyright infringement on their YouTube.com service.
Anne Sweeney, the head of Disney’s entertainment and news television properties said in a statement that the company is running out of patience waiting for YouTube.com to implement their anti-piracy measures.
She said: “We’ve had the phone calls, which are when we see clips of our content going up. We have called and asked (Google’s YouTube.com) to take them (copyrighted videos hosted on YouTube.com) down.”
She further said: “It’s not efficient and I think there is a larger conversation to be had. But this is the world we are living in. This is the reality. It is not the efficient way to deal with it. I think a larger conversation is in order.”
She however could not confirm whether the company is considering suing YouTube.com hoping to get them to pay for the videos hosted on YouTube.com.
