NBC Universal to launch a TV show based on iVillage Internet community
Media Company NBC Universal has said that they are planning to launch a new television show based on their iVillage Internet community.
This community is especially for women on the internet and it could be broadcasted on its Bravo cable network in addition to other TV stations.
NBC had acquired iVillage this year for about $600 million and had said that this was an important part of their strategy to grow on the web.
NBC Universal Television Chief Executive Jeff Zucker spoke on these plans: “This is a real interactive, online and on-the-air television program that we are not going to judge by its ratings. There’s a tremendous amount of sales integration and online activity.”
NBC has been struggling to keep the audience interest on top ever since their popular television series like Seinfeld and Friends went off the air.
