Hewlett Packard launches notebooks with UMTS/HSDPA technology

US based tech giant Hewlett Packard has said that they would start shipping notebook products with Cingular Wireless’ UMTS/HSDPA (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System /High Speed Downlink Data Packet Access) technology.

This would enable the consumers to connect to the internet at faster speeds letting them communicate with corporate servers with ease.

HP’s nc6400 notebook would come with a tri-band modem that supports data rates of 3.6Mbps. US and several European countries support these kinds of wireless speeds.

This notebook comes powered with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

Harold Merkel, the marketing product manager for notebook wireless technology at HP added: “We really wanted to give users a notebook that allows users to go virtually anywhere they want and work. This is about expanding the limits of mobility.”
