Mozart available for free on the net legally
The International Mozart Foundation has made available a scholarly edition of the bound volumes of Mozart’s more than 600 works online.
The website allows the visitors to search for symphonies, arias or lyrics from around 24,000 pages of music.
Project’s program director Ulrich Leisinger said on this launch: “We had 45,000 hits in the first two hours…we would not have expected that.”
This online edition is primarily a digitized version of “New Mozart Edition” published by Barenreiter, of Kassel, Germany.
This project has been financially supported by the Packard Humanities Institute of Los Altos, California.
