The New York Times embraces social bookmarking services
The New York Times has become the latest media service to start offering their readers a way to get their content shared on social networking services.
They are now offering links to post articles on Digg, Facebook, and Newsvine.com.
These tools are now available with all the free articles on NYTimes.com. It won’t be available on premium content in the company’s TimesSelect site as these links are not open to general public.
Vivian Schiller, senior VP and general manager of NYTimes.com spoke on this new development: “This new capability extends the Web-based conversation while encouraging new communities of readers to share and discuss a wide range of interests, whether by linking to an article about politics from their home page or adding coverage of world news to their blogs.”
