Coolroom launches in UK for Intel Viiv PC owners
Broadband users in UK now have an option to download Hollywood movies over the internet if they own an Intel Viiv powered computer.
This service is named Coolroom and it currently has content from Universal Pictures. It supports Windows Media Center PC tied to Intel’s “Viiv” software.
Impressively, these movies can also be transmitted wirelessly throughout the home via a wireless network.
Some of the early launches on this service include Miami Vice and The Break Up (two of the worse movies I have seen in recent times).
They are going to make available You, Me and Dupree on December 26. The service also is offering digital music priced at 99 pence per track. Movie prices start at £8.99.
Rupert Fleming, Coolroom’s managing director spoke on this service launch: “The concept is that you go turn on your Media Center, spotlight ‘TV and Music,’ and go and access it via the remote control. You can sample the content, and then buy it if you so choose.”
