University of California, Los Angeles systems compromised

Incoming reports states that the computer systems at the University of California, Los Angeles were compromised.

Hackers are said to have gotten access to database with personal information on 800,000 people.

Experts believe that this is the biggest computer breaches ever at a U.S. university.

The UCLA has sent notices about this breach to all the 800,000 potential victims. The university added in a statement that they currently have no suspects. The problem was originally discovered on November 21.

Jim Davis, UCLA associate vice chancellor of information technology added: “We definitely do not know who it is yet. All indications so far are that this is a malicious, targeted attack and well orchestrated. And the other thing that was unnerving to us was that it was orchestrated in such a way so that it covered its tracks.”
