Amazon sues IBM over patent infringement

IBM recently sued Amazon claiming that the web retailing giant infringed on their patents to develop their web store.

Amazon has now countersued IBM saying that IBM infringed on Amazon’s technology to develop their own product offerings.

Amazon said that IBM’s previous legal claims of patent infringement are a meritless and misleading. Amazon’s lawyers wrote in the filings: “IBM’s broad allegations of infringement amount to a claim that IBM invented the Internet.”

They are claiming that IBM violated five of Amazon’s patents, for products including IBM’s WebSphere business software.
