Time Magazine names us web users the Person of the Year

The Time magazine has come out with their issue naming their Person of the Year and the honor goes to each one of us…

The magazine has named each and every individual their person of the year who contributes to the web.

They call us web users the citizens of the new digital democracy.

Time Magazine’s Richard Stengel said in a statement on their decision: “If you choose an individual, you have to justify how that person affected millions of people.”

However, the magazine did name 26 “People Who Mattered” and these included North Korean dictator Kim Jong II, Pope Benedict XVI, President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

The cover of the latest issue of the magazine shows a white keyboard with a mirror for a computer screen where buyers can see their reflection.

Stengel added: “I always love it when it’s a person — and it is a person, not a computer or something like that. We just felt there wasn’t a single person who embodied this phenomenon.”
