MySpace.com enhances security of their service
Internet’s most popular social networking portal MySpace.com is taking some major steps to protect their users.
The company aims to protect the young users of their services from child predators. They have hired the services of online identity and background verification company Sentinel Tech Holding.
They would now build a database and search technology which would enable MySpace.com operators to find and delete profiles of registered sex offenders.
As per available information, this database would include data on 595,000 sex offenders otherwise isolated in 46 different registries.
MySpace.com Chief Security Officer Hemanshu Nigam said in a statement that this major step would help them fill major holes in the security of their portal. In addition, they are also hoping that other social networking services would make use of this database to clean their own system.
