Mywaves to help mobile users design channel lineups

Sunnyvale-based mywaves Inc. is hoping to attract mobile users to their new service which would enable them to design channel lineups for watching videos on their phones.

They had released a test version of this service in October and now they are expected to launch the official version today.

The company claims that the test period saw more than 20,000 new users per week using their services.

They currently support CNN news clips and YouTube videos and users with wireless carriers with high-speed data networks can use their services.

This service is being offered for free but mobile users would have to pay for data-traffic fees. Interestingly, YouTube.com has a deal in place with Verizon Wireless and their content is already available through its V Cast multimedia service. Mywaves enable users of other services to get similar facilities.
