Hynix Semiconductor develops world’s fastest memory chip for PCs
Tech Company Hynix Semiconductor has said that they have developed the world’s fastest memory chip for PCs.
They have used a 60-nano engraving technique to develop these new chips and these chips have passed a verification test by Intel.
Hynix would now start mass-production of the chip early next year. This chip operates at a clock speed of 800 MHz. the fastest chip available in the market right now operates at 667 MHz.
The company said that their 1-gigabyte, 300 MHz DDR2 DRAM module is also about 50 percent more cost-efficient than previous chips made by the 80-nano method
Hynix has used two new technologies named 3-D Transistor and 3-Tier Wiring Technique to develop this new chip.
