Verizon Communications to build fiber optic cable between China and the United States
US telecom giant Verizon Communications has announced that they would work with firms from China, South Korea and Taiwan to build a fiber optic cable link between China and the United States.
This link would be vital in helping to meet booming Internet traffic between the two nations.
This link is being named “Trans Pacific Express” and it would directly link USA with South Korea and Taiwan, as well as China.
This would help them enhance the networking speeds between these nations.
Leng Rongquan, vice president of China Telecom said on this new development: “The Internet traffic between China and the US is growing dramatically, which requires significant trans-Pacific capacity.”
