VeriSign to start distributing family-friendly movies from next year

VeriSign has said in a statement that they would soon start distributing family-friendly movies on the internet. Their service would be run by AxiomTV which is a subsidiary of Axiom Entertainment.

Axiom Entertainment is actively working on an Internet TV channel technology which would feature kid-themed, parent-approved movies and shows.

They would use specially designed technologies to filter pornography, violence and foul language.

VeriSign is due to launch a test version of this service on Jan. 8. A broader release is scheduled for the month of February. Users would be required to buy and install some cables and other simple hardware to their television to get this content in their homes.
