Apple iPod integration in cars to become quite common in 2007
Market research firm Telematics Research Group has said in a report that almost half of all 2007 automobile models sold in the United States would feature inbuilt support for the hugely popular Apple iPod player.
The firm also said that this feature would become one of the most sought after by people getting new cars in the coming year.
The report further said that only 12 percent of this year’s car featured true iPod integration. In addition, more cars would feature some form of auxiliary input to allow iPods and other devices to connect to the car’s stereo.
TRG further stated that Eighty percent of the 2007 model cars would feature some form of “branded audio”. This includes popular companies like Harman/Kardon, Bose and Boston Acoustics.
Impressively, six models to come next year would feature automotive entertainment systems featuring built in hard drives!
